Creating a “Little Mouse House in a Jar” – A Whimsical Christmas Decoration, Step by step Video
The holiday season is the perfect time to dive into festive crafts, and this year I created a charming Christmas décor piece I like to call the Little Mouse House in a Jar. Using the versatile mason jar MDF crafty shape from Stamperia as the base, I built a cozy Christmas scene featuring an adorable little mouse outside her enchanting home. This mixed media project was such a delight to work on, and I’m excited to share the process with you!
Materials Used:
- Stamperia MDF Mason Jar Crafty Shape: This mason jar base is part of Stamperia’s beautiful collection and comes with two additional layers to add dimension and depth to the design.
- Stamperia Gear Up for Christmas Paper Collection: The little mouse and it’s whimsical house are cut out directly from this collection. The illustrations are both intricate and playful, making them perfect for this festive scene.
- Chipboard Pine Trees: To bring a sense of depth and nature, I added chipboard pine trees to the background, which were painted with acrylics to enhance their texture and bring them to life.
- Acrylic Paints: I used a range of acrylic paints.
- Resin Element: To give the project an extra touch of detail, I added a resin element, which I made using the Stamperia Gear Up For Christmas silicone mould. It blends beautifully with the rest of the elements, contributing to the magical feel.

This Little Mouse House in a Jar project is not only fun to create, but it’s also a charming addition to any Christmas décor collection. The combination of Stamperia’s whimsical designs and a touch of mixed media brings a sense of wonder and nostalgia to the holiday season.
Have fun creating, and happy crafting!
