Sweet Spring Egg Cards with New Spellbinders Cutting Dies 🌸🥚
I’m sharing a new video tutorial where I create one of two sweet egg-shaped Easter cards using the beautiful new cutting dies from Spellbinders. These dies are perfect for spring and Easter projects and make it so easy to build layered floral designs.
For this tutorial, I created two very similar cards, but with a few simple changes that give each one its own look. It’s a great example of how using the same supplies can still result in unique designs.
Same Design, Different Colours
Both cards use the same die set and the same layout. The main difference is the colour palette. I changed the colours of the background panels, the flowers, and the ribbons to create two slightly different styles.
One card has a soft yellow background with pink accents, while the other features a cooler palette with blue and pastel flowers. Even this small change makes each card feel fresh and unique.
Layered Floral Details
The dies create beautiful, delicate floral layers that frame the egg shape perfectly. I love how the flowers wrap around the card and give it a light, airy spring feel.
To finish the cards, I added:
- soft ink-blended backgrounds
- layered die-cut flowers and leaves
- sentiment strips for “Happy Easter” and “Happy Spring”
- delicate ribbons tied into bows
- a few gold splatters and embellishments
These little details bring everything together and add dimension and texture.
Perfect for Easter and Spring
Egg-shaped cards are always fun for Easter, but with floral elements and soft colours they also work beautifully for general spring greetings.
You could easily adapt this design by:
- changing the flower colours
- using different sentiments
- adding more dimension with foam tape
- or turning it into a mini Easter gift tag
