Christmas Tea Cup Decoration with Stamperia’s Gear Up for Christmas Collection

Today, I’m excited to share my latest holiday project with you—a charming Christmas tea cup decoration! This festive piece was crafted using Stamperia’s Gear Up for Christmas collection, along with a tea cup base from the Crafty Shapes range, which I had the honour of designing exclusively for Stamperia. This collection has everything you need to create cosy, whimsical pieces perfect for the holiday season, and I can’t wait to tell you more about how this project came together.
Project Details:
1. Preparing the Base:
I began by covering the tea cup shape with beautiful rice paper from the Gear Up for Christmas collection. This paper added a lovely background texture with a hint of vintage Christmas charm, which really sets the tone for the entire piece.
2. Adding Snowy Details:
Using a Stamperia stencil and volume paste, I added raised snowflakes to create a textured, wintery look. This step adds dimension and makes the tea cup look like it’s been dusted in fresh snow—a magical touch for any Christmas decor.
3. Building the Composition:
Next, I layered elements from the Gear Up for Christmas ephemera to create a festive scene. The charming house, snowflakes, and gears come together to evoke a nostalgic, cozy winter village. For extra depth, I also included a few handmade snowflakes using air-dry clay and Stamperia mould, adding a unique and personal touch to the composition.
4. Finishing Touches:
To complete the project, I splattered white acrylic paint across the piece, mimicking snowflakes in the air. I then added tiny white dots with a contour liner and gently brushed the edges with white gesso to give it a soft, frosty look. These final details bring everything together, adding a beautiful wintery finish.
