Love Jar – A Handmade Card Full of Heart

Today I’m sharing a card that is truly filled to the brim with love 💛
This sweet Love Jar is one of those projects that came together so naturally – layers, textures, and little details building a story inside a simple jar shape.

The Base – Shaped with Spellbinders

The card itself is jar-shaped, created using beautiful Spellbinders cutting dies. I love how shaped cards instantly feel more special and unique. The jar form gives such a cosy, heartfelt feeling – like capturing a little moment and sealing it inside.

From the same die set, I also used the floral elements to create my embellishments. Instead of traditional paper flowers, I turned them into soft fabric flowers, adding dimension and a delicate vintage touch. The coordinating leaves and tiny tag also come from the Spellbinders set, making everything feel cohesive and thoughtfully designed.

Texture & Colour Details

For the leaves, I die cut them from watercolour paper, which gives a beautiful natural texture. I then sprayed them with Distress Oxide Spray, allowing the colour to blend softly and settle into the fibers. The result is subtle variation and depth that flat cardstock simply can’t achieve.

The red hearts needed a little extra magic, so I added splashes of Distress Spritz to create shimmering stains. In the light, they catch a delicate sparkle – just enough to make them feel special without overpowering the design.

Sentiment & Story

The small tag tucked under the twine features a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Label Book. I chose the word “LOVE” – simple, timeless, and perfectly suited to this piece.

I wrapped the top of the jar with 'rustic red twine’ – aslo die cut from the Spellbinders set, tying everything together visually while adding a handmade charm that reminds me of sealing a real jar.

The Background

For the background, I used patterned paper from my Quiet Days collection, which I designed for Stamperia. I love how the soft vintage text adds depth without competing with the focal elements. It creates that nostalgic, warm atmosphere that makes this card feel like a keepsake.

Final Thoughts

This card is all about layering textures:

Each element plays its part in building a soft, romantic composition. It feels like a little jar filled with emotions, ready to be gifted to someone special.
