Mailbox Shaped Cards with a Hidden Surprise | Video Tutorial

There’s just something magical about happy mail, isn’t there? Today I want to share a brand-new video tutorial where I’m creating these sweet mailbox shaped cards that are not only cute on the outside, but also hide a little surprise inside.

These cards are designed to hold a gift card, a small note, or a hidden message, making them perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, birthdays, or just because. I love projects that look interactive and special, and this one definitely delivers.

For this project, I used the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month from April 2025, which is currently on sale (such a great time to grab it!). This die set is incredibly versatile and makes assembling these mailbox cards easy and fun, with lots of beautiful details that really bring the design to life.

I kept the colour palette soft and elegant by using Chiffon and Fog cardstock from Spellbinders. These subtle, muted tones pair beautifully together and give the cards that romantic, vintage-inspired feel I was going for. A little pop of red with the hearts adds just the right amount of contrast and charm.

Be sure to watch the full video tutorial to see how everything comes together and to catch all the little tips along the way. Don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know how you’d use these mailbox cards—love notes, gift cards, or something else entirely?

And if you like the Spellbinders set I have another inspiration in a totally different style! Read the blog post HERE

Happy crafting and happy mail!
