Handle With Care – A Sweet Baby Card with Little Dreamer

There’s something so special about creating a card to welcome a brand new baby into the world. Soft textures, gentle colours, and delicate details just feel right for celebrating such a precious arrival. Today I’m sharing my newest baby card, created with the beautiful Little Dreamer collection by 49 and Market — and I’ve also recorded a reel so you can see all those lovely layers up close!

A Soft & Dreamy Composition

For this design, I wanted to create a warm, vintage-inspired nursery feel. The gorgeous imagery in the Little Dreamer collection made it effortless. I built my composition around the sweetest rocking horse and nursery elements, layering everything to create depth and softness.

The “Handle With Care” sentiment felt absolutely perfect for a newborn card — simple, heartfelt, and oh-so-appropriate.

Handmade Cotton Flowers 🌸

One of my favourite parts of this card is the cluster of handmade fabric flowers. I created them from cotton fabric using my Sizzix and Stamperia (my design) dies, and they add such a soft, tactile element to the design.

The natural cotton texture complements the Little Dreamer palette beautifully and enhances that cosy nursery vibe. I love how fabric flowers bring dimension without overwhelming the delicate feel of a baby project.

I have a full video tutorial on my YouTube channel where I walk you through exactly how I make these flowers step-by-step. If you’ve ever wanted to try creating your own fabric embellishments, this is a great place to start!

Finishing Touches

To complete the card, I added:

  • Gorgeous little gem stickers for a soft sparkle
  • Extra floral layering for fullness and balance
  • Subtle gauze for airy texture
  • Tiny embellishments to tie everything together

Creating baby cards is always such a joy — they’re filled with hope, sweetness, and love. I hope this project inspires you to pull out your Little Dreamer collection and create something beautiful for the next tiny arrival in your life.
