Whimsical Houses Mixed Media Tag step by step

I’m so excited for my friend Vicky Papaioannou, as her Whimsical collection with Spellbinders is now live!
I’ve used Whimsical Houses Etched Dies to create a mixed media tag, a little gift for a friend who just bought a house 🙂

I started with an MDF tag and covered it with acrylic paint. I chose 2 shades of blue, applied the lighter one on top and the darker one on the bottom, and blended them in the middle. For painting, I use a kitchen sponge cut into small pieces. Honestly, it is one of my fav tools for painting on flat surfaces!

To make the background slightly more interesting, I added a gold texture paste using a spotty stencil. After attaching everything I also added splats of white acrylic paint and distress spritz.

The houses are so fun to play with! They have cute details – windows, fence, door, chimney…

For the sentiment, I used a stamp – also from the Whimsical collection.
