Interactive “Getting Old” Card with a Hidden Pull-Out Message
There’s something extra special about a card that surprises the recipient—and today’s project does exactly that! I’m sharing an interactive design featuring the new release from Simon Says Stamp – In My Heart collection. I used the Getting Old stamp set to create a lighthearted card with a hidden pull-out message that’s guaranteed to make someone smile (or laugh out loud!).

💬 The Idea Behind the Card
This card plays on a relatable and funny sentiment about getting older. The front gives a hint:
“You know you’re getting old when…”
But the real punchline is tucked away inside a pull-out tab, making the experience interactive and fun. It’s perfect for birthdays or just to brighten someone’s day with humor.

🌿 Design Details
I started by stamping the text on a larger piece of card, knowing that I’ll have to trim it and create a liitle tab to pull.

Once this was ready I decided to cretae a pocket which will hide a part of the text, I only wanted to see the first sentence. I used double sided foam pads to stop my pull-out card from going any lower than required.

I’ve attached the pocket to the card base and created a leafy composition on top of it.
💡 Tip: Make sure your pull-out panel slides easily but snugly—this keeps the surprise element intact!

The background papers I used are from my collection for Stamperia Quite Days.
🎉 The Hidden Message
Once you pull the tab, the full sentiment is revealed:
“Your ability to remember lyrics from the 80’s far exceeds your ability to remember why you walked into the kitchen.”
It’s witty, relatable, and ideal for anyone with a great sense of humor!
❤️ Why I Love This Design
