Meet Winifred! A Fun Mixed Media Tag with the New Tim Holtz & Sizzix Release
I’m excited to share a project featuring one of my favorite dies from the brand-new Tim Holtz and Sizzix release! If you loved the original Colorize animals, you’ll be happy to hear that they’re back and in a smaller size too! and accompanied by adorable accessories that add even more personality and charm to your creations.
For today’s project, I created a mixed media tag starring Winifred, a stylish little zebra who completely stole my heart the moment I saw her. And honestly, how can you resist a zebra wearing pink heart-shaped glasses?
To create the tag, I started with a soft layer of ink blending, then ran it through my die cutting machine using Tim Holtz Sizzix INTERTWINED 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder. I then built a lush arrangement of die-cut foliage behind Winifred to create depth and frame the focal image. The soft greens from Tim Holtz Sizzix WILDFLOWER STEMS 1 contrast beautifully with her black-and-white stripes while keeping the overall design fresh and playful.
Winifred herself is assembled from multiple cardstock layers, creating wonderful dimension and detail. The tiny pink glasses add a whimsical touch and perfectly complement the lighthearted sentiment:
„choose to see the good stuff”
I finished the tag with bits of moss and natural textures around the base to ground the scene and enhance the organic feel of the project.
One of the things I love most about this release is how versatile these new, smaller Colorize animals are. They work beautifully on cards, tags, journal pages, and mixed media projects, and the accessory sets make it easy to customize each character and give them their own unique personality.
