Non traditional colours Christmas Card

For this card, I wanted to step away from traditional Christmas colours and create something a little softer and more storybook-inspired. The design was made with a very specific person in mind — someone who loves reading, Christmas, and gingerbread houses — so combining all three elements felt like the perfect solution.

After my last video tutorial, where I transformed a set of die-cut houses into gingerbread houses using simple details and “icing” effects, I decided to repeat the idea here. This time, the little house sits on top of a stack of books.

Both the book stack and the house were created using the Classic Tales cutting dies from Spellbinders. I absolutely love how versatile this set is — it works beautifully for storytelling, seasonal projects, and more whimsical designs like this one. The papers come from Stamperia, whose muted, non-traditional Christmas colours help give the card its soft, cosy feel.

This card feels like a quiet winter evening — a good book, a hint of gingerbread, and Christmas magic in the air.

I added a couple of handmade fabric flowers, leaves are aslo from the Spellbinders set, sentiment is handwritten ( I’m sure you can see that! 🙂

Thanks for visiting! Emilia
