A Day to Remember – Layered Clock Card Tutorial
There’s something so special about capturing a moment in time through paper crafting… and today’s card is exactly that — a soft, romantic composition built around the beauty of time and memories.
For this project, I created a richly layered card featuring two vintage clocks as the focal point, using the gorgeous Echoes of Time collection by 49 & Market. The result is a delicate, dimensional design that feels both nostalgic and timeless.
🌿 Inspiration Behind the Card
When I started this card, I imagined a piece that would feel like a snapshot of a cherished memory — something soft, layered, and full of little details to discover.
The clocks immediately drew me in. They symbolize:
- meaningful moments
- memories worth holding onto
- the beauty of time passing
I paired them with florals, soft greenery, and vintage textures to create a composition that feels like a keepsake frozen in time.

Here’s a quick look at how this card came together:
1. Focal point
I started with the clocks and built the composition around them.
2. Card base
This time I decided to make a square base that is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2″
3. Background
I chose soft patterned papers and subtle textures to create a gentle, neutral foundation.
4. Layers
Started with the largest one – frame and then I tucked in florals and leaves around the clocks, softening the composition and adding dimension.
5. Texture
Threads, splatters, and small embellishments bring everything to life and add that handcrafted feel.
6. Sentiment
“a day to remember” — simple, meaningful, and perfectly suited to the theme.
7. Finishing touches
Splats of white acrylic paint, small screw heads scattered around the composition.
